After considering the responses to the web survey and post cards, the Reunion Committee has decided our 50th reunion will be held at the newly renovated Nasa Hilton Hotel in Clearlake http://www1.hilton.com/en_US/hi/hotel/HOUNBHF-Hilton-Houston-NASA-Clear-Lake-Texas/index.do on Friday and Saturday, October 14 & 15, 2011. Members of the Reunion Committee, along with the help of Rose Mary and Morris Goodwin, made visits to several facilities to try and pick the one that would best satisfy all of our needs. We realize that a good number of you preferred to have the reunion in Baytown, but the sad truth is that just is no suitable venue in Baytown yet. Clear Lake is close enough for those who either live in, or want to stay in, Baytown to drive back and forth. The hotel has been remodeled and is quite nice. The Class of 1960 had their 50th Reunion there in May and it was an excellent reunion and the hotel staff was quite accommodating. Several Reunion Committee members attended that reunion and were quite impressed.
This is going to be the best reunion yet (and they've all been good)! We want all of you to come so we can catch up with what we've been doing the past 50 years! We will have a "memory book" with pictures, so early next year Joan Davis Griffin will be asking for a recent picture of you and a short blurb of your life since graduation. Also, please start dragging out those old candid snapshots of you and your friends - birthday parties, date night, prom night, etc. to scan and email, or send by snail mail (we'll take good care of them) to Donna Bond Hood. She'll put them together for the program.
